Rohirian Gallore

After a major success with my Rohirian Riders on eBay I decided to paint, well buy and paint some more! So that’s the stuff I got in the pipeline!
24 companies of riders to sell in 8 lots of 3 companies (in various states of painteage)

I have got the riders almost painted, well 24 of them.
4 and a half companies of warriors (not painted almost at all)

I just hope I have enough patience to paint so many. Keep your fingers crossed!

I've got nothing going on

Since the last post I haven't painted a single model. I played a game of bloodbowl, but that's about it. Lazier and lazier I do get...

Please Lord make me paint!

Oh how bored I am. Still at work waiting to get home to cover some undercoated plastic with paint. I got 12 space orks that will go on eBay. I have to do them today! If only I wanted to do that as much as I can't be bothered...

Space Hulk update...

You know there's always a moment in your painting career, that you either decide to improve your painting techniques or you stay where you are and try to be happy with the way your models look like. I decide to learn something new; layering. glazing.

I started off with Brother Omnio from the amazing Space Hulk set. I started with Blood Red with Dark Flesh, Blood Red up to Blood Red with Blazing Orange. I wanted him to look dark and gritty, as I want all my models to look. Here he is in an unfinished state. I still have couple of details to do, that I haven't done due to shortage of paints in my back pack :)

Here is Brother ******* from Squad Lorenzo. WIth this model I decided to go with some of the Valejo paints. I heard they are thinner then GW paints. So I bought couple reds and a Valejo paint thinner, which smells like hospital, but does it's job perfectly. Although it required more layers than the painjob on Brother Omnio, I am happier with the results. It is also unfinished due to lack of certan paints.

The Brood Lord... I'll be honest: I didn't go into some extensive colour schemes for one reason only. I have loads of them to paint and just in case I decide to start a Tyranid army when the new codex comes out I don't want to spend too much time painting hordes of spikeyz.

And four of the Genestealers. Bases need some work, but they will do for now.

Photobucket

Plus I painted half of the door thingys from the Space Hulk box. They look much better drybrushed the in simple black. Plus all my bases will be done in the same manner.

Oh and I painted a model for Warmachine, which is really tempting, but I'm holding my waller closed tightly so I don't spend any money... so hard!

Till later!

Space Hulk!

Photobucket

O hai again...

Just came back from my LGW and had a chance to play a game of SH. I must say: it's dead easy to pick up and plays so well after couple turns when you know what to do.
My termies lost in Mission 1: Sucide mission, where you have to get your heavy flamer guy to some office bulk and burn some scrap material or what not.
The game flow is awesome! No hassle, get an idea what you're doing, move models, roll some dice, put them aside if they die or laugh evillishly (?) when your opponent has to take some of his. Take turns and play again! So easy. So much fun!

The tiles look amazing, nicely coated paper. I am sure that most tiles are embossed so they really look like bulk heads. The only problem I see coming (as a very pedantic person) is with doors. They don't stay in the bases provided. Either one will have to glue them or bluetack them.

Nevertheless the game is definitely worth the money! Plus the box it comes in is not like the one for AoBR. It's hard cardboard and it will withstand lots of wear and tear.

I would strongly recommend you go to LGW and try it out and preorder it as soon as. Remember, it's limited edition!

'til later folks!

Blood Bowl!

O hai!

Finally me and Alex started our teams. After having one game and bending / omitting the rules to the extreme we decided to write up rosters and play it properly.

So... my team won 2:1 and an MVP title in my team was given to guy who cowered with the ball on MY touchdown line on turn 8 of second half. That ork actually had an idea what to do to win. Oh yes, obviously, I started a team of orks... or orcs. I built them from some bits I had gathered and now I have 6 linemen, 2 blitzers, 2 throwers and 2 black orcs. I need to model up my charachter or sth and some fans (if I manage to get some).

On other note, I finished painting a TAC squad for my Raven Guard and combat squad for my Red Scorpions army, which I decided to build very, very slowly. I will then team them up with Raven Guard and have 3000pts of pure Apocalypse awesomeness!

'till then!

Space Marines Diorama

After reading one of the Black Library books I had this idea for a diorama. By accident I read bAttle brothers as bOttle brothers. That spurred and idea in my huge, twisted polish head.

DRUNK SPACE MARINES!

And that's what I come up with during one of my nightshifts:

But... after having much trouble with the name for the drink (Single Melt Scotch?) I decided to spruce it up a little bit with an orky vehicle on the other side, or maybe a character (don't know yet) and enter Golden Demon with it. To get to FW queues earlier if not for anything else :D

Oh, right... got sidetracked. Yes, an orky thing on the other side and space marines trying to blow it up with their meltas. A bit of repositioning will do the trick. The guy kicking the other in the butt would be kicking a barrel full of slime. The guy carrying two meltas will be in the back. The guy leaning on the wall might be pushing some stuff over to tip it on the orky vehicle.

What do you think?

Plus, I pre-ordered two boxes of Space Hulk... Have you seen the models?! They... are... amazing! One of the boxes will go one eBay or a kind someone who will be willing to pay for it when GW runs out :P

That's all folks! Till later...

PS
Oh, tonight on the nightshift I had a chance to rugby takle a customer! F. U. N. :D

Pictures soon...

Games of the Day

I had to exciting games today in the King & Queen pub with Brighton Warlords bunch.

First of them was the game against Bob and his Scythes of the Emperor. Three objectives, Dawn of War deployment, I go first. Well my Nob Bikers got wiped out by Vindicator, so that was a disappointment, but on the upside my 3 Killa Kans with flamers managed to flame 3 Land Speeders that tried to get to my objective. There was a bit of a brawl at the middle objective where SotE's Dreadnought fought a mob of 12 orks after he got out of the Drop Pod. My Deff Dread came in from reserves to help and managed to take it out from behind. Then 3 Land Speeders Deep Striked and couldn't damage the Deff Dread. So what he does is he stands there for a round immobilised waiting for 3 Killa Kans to arrive from around the corner.

The Killa Kans come and flame the Land Speeders and Deff Dread finishes them off from behind (again...) and thus my objective was saved.

Neither Dreadnought or Land Speeders got Explodes! results on the damage table, just Destroyed! So they were kinda in my way as you can see.

Killa Kans proved to be worth their points when they finally got onto the objective in front of them (left side of the picture) and stopped dead SotE Command Squad's charge. Dead, as in killed and flamed them to bits! The day was saved by Killa Kans. Good game balanced till the very end. I won with two objectives and Bob got one.

The other game was against my old adversary, Vince and his Blood Angels. Anihilation, 12" onwards the table, go!

Well... Deff Koptas with Big Shootas came on the table... got wiped out! Deff Koptas with Rokkits came on the table... got wiped out! Nob Bikers got on the table... got shot by 3 Lascannons and Heavy Bolters. The only damage was done by my Mega Nobz and Warboss where they killed of a Chaplain and his retinue and a Dreadnought with 2 close combat weapons.

The fight lasted 6 turns out of 7 of the whole game! Such a clash of skill against stubbornness. Good game! Lots of laugh and premeasuring :) Damn you! I lost 10 KPs against 4 KPs...

Good games = good fun!

Looking forward to doubles tournament in August...

Magnetised Razorback (2 options)

So after calculating my remaining Space Marines I found out that I'm a Razorback with TL Lascannons short of another 1500 pts. Thus, I traveled to GW store on a sunny Sunday (12th July) and purchased Razorback box. 13th July, 1700 hours my Razorback looked like that:

I'm really happy with the Lascannon turret...

And the Heavy Bolter turret...

Ork Warbikers!

Finally, after hearing here and there about how good they are I decided to make my own. As I had 3 Deff Koptas already converted into bikers, I decided to use my two spare ones to make it a nice 5 man (ork) squad including a Painboy.

So... here they are.

(click on the picture to enlarge)

Here in the middle is the mighty Painboy and his disgustingly dirty 'Urty Syringe

Here is the fourth guy I build today with lots of Dakka, thanks to Axel (cheers mate!)

And one of the old guys wielding an 'Uge Choppa (he still needs some GS work done on him)

And just to show you the difference betweeb these and the GW ones...

I hope u like them, feel free to post your comments and opinions... ta!

Space Marine - the game, trailer

Well, I've seen the gameplay some time ago, like a year or something, but now we have an official cover art and a trailer.

That looks sweet. I hope the gameplay is gonna be as fun as rolling dice.

I want the release date TBA. Come on you Relic / Games Workshop people! Make me a game :D

Whooped Ass...

Yup! I got my ass whipped by my mate Vince today! Although I must say, odds were against me from start :/

It was dawn of war deployment and seize ground mission. So he started 24 inches into the board and I had to be 18 inches away from him. So being stuck on my objective I had to be defensive. And since I suck at this game, especially with space marines, I cowardly camped and picked off whatever came my way. Still, lost terribly. Not mentioning my WHOLE squad of 10 Vanguard getting wiped by 3 lucky shots from plasma cannons infilicting 14 hits. 10 guys... 380 points he wiped his ass with... darn!

Notes to self:

1. get some melta bombs!
2. get a librarian for my vanguard
3. use termies?
4. buy new box of die, these ones are unlucky :P

Carnigoth and Vindicare Assassin

Another night shift spent on painting. Pretty productive.

Here is the Carnigoth for my battlewagon crazyness:

And Vindicare Assassin that I found in my bitz box:

And a special something that I painted for my mate. Just a quick paint job to put it on the table:
