Space Hulk Terminator

Witajcie!

Welcome!

On the hype of the new releases and the never to be released again super limited edition of Space Hulk, that just got revisited, I present you the first model I painted from the canned part of the box. Speeehhz Marrrinz. The first Terminator is painted in Flesh Tearers colour scheme. Yes, I know, I have presented it already some time ago, but this time it's properly finished with all the bits. Done! Enjoy...

Dodatkowym smaczkiem niech będzie fakt, że to już trzysetny post, woot woot!

Let it be additional treat, that you are reading my threehunderdth post, woot woot!

White Dwarf - Space Hulk!

Witajcie!

Przed wami świerzutka porcja fotek z najnowszego White Dwarfa. Zawiera oczywiście masę Space Hulka, battle report oraz fotki planszy i nowych tokenów.

Welcome!

I present you pics from the latest White Dwarf, which is full of Space Hulk content. Additional mission, a battle report and juicy pics of the board and new tokens.

Sorry, but I had to remove the photos for legal reasons. It's weird to me, that eventhough I am promoting their products, they have something against it. Unless the big fuss was about the shot of the Space Hiulk scenario that was meant to White Dwarf Exclusive. It would be helpful if GW got in touch first to inform what's wrong.

Avalanche of projects! - End of day one

Since weekends are the only days I can spend with my wife I didn't do a whole lot. But there is progress on the Genestealers (they are almost finished) and here are the pics of my Malifaux as it is today. Also, a special treat!

Zombies in both forms, a token and a 'living' zombie.

The samurais and the Undertaker. Based with Scorched Brown.

The Genestealers after: base of Adeptus Battlegrey, Scorched Brown and Badab Black on the carapace and Liche Purple on tongues and flesh bits. Also Tin Bitz as base for metal parts and overcoat of Boltgun Metal.

And the special treat from months back! That's who is going to fight them in the claustrophobic corridors of the hulk from space :D

I recently have purchased those Battlefoam trays for Space Hulk from Wayland Games. It's £18 for the set with special bottom trays for all the terrain and such. Funny thing though is the way they can't use the name Space Hulk and have to keep using 'the corridor board game in space' or something similar... hilarious!

I should finish those Genestealers tomorrow, and get on with the samurais, or the zombies. It all depends how much time I have.

'Till Later

Avalanche of projects!

For days, weeks or even months I can go about without touching a brush. Then suddenly I have this urge to cover stuff with paint and that is how my paint station looks like then.

I blame three energy drinks and godly chinese take-away! I will be posting pictures of step-by-step tutorials how I paint certain things. So in the pipelines:
* Malifaux 3 samurais
* Malifaux Undertaker
* Space Hulk 18 genestealers
* Space Hulk 6 marines stripping the the jar in the back
* 40k Orkz 3 DeffKoptas
* 40k Orkz Battlwagon

'Till Later!

Space Hulk - Death Angel

Photobucket

Fantasy Flight Games is known for the quality of their games. I’m pretty sure that I have never heard of a game released by them that was a complete flop. Thus, my hopes for Death Angel were high. When I finally got my hands on the box I was more than happy.

It’s is a Silver Line edition, which apparently means it’s a compact size game stuffed into one small box and that is all you need to play. Well, maybe a bit of a table space, that’s it! The box, as always, has a nice textured feel to it. So do the size 3 cards. They got nice artwork on them fitting the Space Hulk Board Game perfectly by using GW illustrations from codices and rulebooks. All the familiar faces are there: Lorenzo, Omnio and others. It was a big shame putting them into sleeves but… you will want to protect them as most of the cards will be used a lot. The manual is written in a pretty straightforward way, but could do with more examples of gameplay, I think. It is a full colour 32 page booklet with a quick reference on the last page.

Photobucket

The game is designed to be played by one to six players and is played against the deck. Before you start playing you need to set up your gaming area. Yes, it’s a card game that looks like a board game to me, without actually using a board. You set up you blips, set up your locations and then your Space Marines. I will not go into detail on the game itself as I’m pretty sure you want to experience the fun of learning yourself. It takes a while to get your head around the rules, but when you do… oh boy!

When I and my mates played the first couple of games we thought the game is broken. You can’t win. Then I thought of Space Hulk the Board Game. You’re not supposed to win! There’s only couple of you against hordes of pissed of bugs. Winning the game is like getting the right numbers on the lottery. So, don’t worry if you loose! Keep on trying and you will get there.

(Being an OCD person I need to have everything perfectly lined up and fitting into boxes. When you put all the cards in their sleeves they simply don’t fit in the box. Well, not at first they don’t. There is a way to fit them in there and after a trial and error and some maths I managed to find a way: First pile: Genestealers + Brood Lords + Locations, second pile: Events + Space Marines + Actions, and the middle pile on top of the raised area: Terrain cards; all tokens stuffed inside the raised area.)

Space Hulk!

Photobucket

O hai again...

Just came back from my LGW and had a chance to play a game of SH. I must say: it's dead easy to pick up and plays so well after couple turns when you know what to do.
My termies lost in Mission 1: Sucide mission, where you have to get your heavy flamer guy to some office bulk and burn some scrap material or what not.
The game flow is awesome! No hassle, get an idea what you're doing, move models, roll some dice, put them aside if they die or laugh evillishly (?) when your opponent has to take some of his. Take turns and play again! So easy. So much fun!

The tiles look amazing, nicely coated paper. I am sure that most tiles are embossed so they really look like bulk heads. The only problem I see coming (as a very pedantic person) is with doors. They don't stay in the bases provided. Either one will have to glue them or bluetack them.

Nevertheless the game is definitely worth the money! Plus the box it comes in is not like the one for AoBR. It's hard cardboard and it will withstand lots of wear and tear.

I would strongly recommend you go to LGW and try it out and preorder it as soon as. Remember, it's limited edition!

'til later folks!
